Police Investigation
The Time of Investigation
As soon as you are arrested or any charge is placed against you the investigation starts. This investigation is to make sure that charges placed against you have some meaning or you are innocent.
People Who Owe the Right to Investigate
There are four forces that have the right to investigate you:-
The Police officers
Officers who work and represent the drug enforcement agency.
Officers from the anti corruption agency.
Can Arresting Be Done For the Investigation?
The police have all rights to arrest people who have been involved in any kind of crimes or even people that are suspects according to the police and once the investigation is done and you have successfully proven that all cases against you have no base then you are free, right back on the streets. The police don’t have the rights to arrest someone for a very long time for investigation. Within one day he has to be taken to the magistrate for inquiry. You cannot be kept in the investigation for more than 15 days.
Answering the Police Is Obligatory
In many cases you are not arrested for the crime but the police question you about the case, in this case you have to be truthful to the police because speaking truth is the best policy and you can get out of the inquiry pretty soon and if you have spoken the truth no one can arrest you wrongly and you would be free. If you have spoken false then you would have to answer more questions and if things prove wrong you yourself could be in trouble.
The Police Have All Rights to Search You
The police have all the rights to search you as you could be having anything that would help the police solve the case earlier and less effort required. Each and every thing that you would be having would be taken away by the police and if you are truthful and prove yourself innocent as soon as you are about to set free the police would hand over your stuff right how they were.
